App Store and Google Play Publishing, Rejection Recovery

Kalynda Tech manages App Store and Google Play submission end to end and rescues rejected apps. Apple guideline 2.1 (insufficient information), 4.1 (brand similarity) and the privacy rules, plus Google Play's target-API deadlines, health declaration and data-deletion URL requirements, are the blockers that come up most often — and each has been solved before.

Rejection reasons are predictable

Review rejections are not random; the same guidelines repeat. On Apple's side a new developer's first app is almost always asked for more information under 2.1, and writing a longer review note does not prevent it — what is usually wanted is a demonstration running on a physical device. Guideline 4.1 arrives when your chosen app name resembles a registered mark on the store, and the fix is in the name, not the code.

On Google Play the usual sticking points are target-API deadlines, the health category declaration, location permission justification, and whether the privacy policy URL on the store listing is actually reachable.

The pre-submission checklist

Before an app is submitted: screen the app name against store and trademark registers, complete the privacy declaration in full, publish the data-deletion page, document permission justifications, and prepare a test account and a demonstration video.

With that list complete, a first submission is far more likely to pass; without it the process stretches into weeks.

App store optimisation (ASO)

Being published is not the same as being visible. App name, subtitle, keyword field, screenshots and description drive install rate directly. Kalynda writes these per target language and produces screenshots at the exact dimensions each store requires.

Frequently asked questions

My app was rejected — how quickly can it go live?

It depends on the guideline. Missing privacy declarations or an unreachable link are usually closed out within days; a brand-name rejection (4.1) or a functionality rejection can require renaming the app or reworking a module.

Do you have to have written the app?

No. Apps built by other teams are taken over; the codebase is reviewed and only the work needed to close the cited guideline is performed.

What should I watch for when choosing an app name?

Screen both stores and trademark registers before committing to a name. A brand rejection arriving close to launch means regenerating the app name, the icon and every store asset.
